Our Web Development Process

After many years in the business and working closely with our clients, we have developed certain guidelines by which we plan, design, and produce a web site.

Initial Consultation is free:

Web Design Process - PerreLink Web Solutions

For local clients, these consultations usually take place at your office and generally take about an hour. They are free and without obligation. We can also do this via email, phone or instant messaging.

At this meeting, we find out what type of website you are interested in. We discuss the pros and cons of various solutions, discuss your needs and expectations of having a website. We find out if you have current advertising material that can be used for the website, or whether these too will need to be developed by Perrelink.

We will also answer any questions you have. The purpose of this initial meeting is to provide you with enough information to allow you to decide whether you want to go on to the next step, the writing of a detailed estimate.

If, after our first meeting, you decide that PerreLink write a detailed estimate, we will need further information from you, by having you fill in a form we have designed especially for this purpose.

We will then write a detailed report according to the specifications you have requested for your web site and include a cost estimate.

Signing of Contract Agreement:

Once the client has agreed to engage PerreLink to develop their website, we will prepare a standard contract, including a detailed description of the planned web site and a cost estimate. 1/3rd of the total estimated cost, is due upon signing of the Agreement.

Information Relevant to the Website Project:

Before we can being the actual design of the website, text and graphic content must be supplied to us before work can begin. We will help advise you on what type of content is needed, but it is important to realise that the client also has to have some input into the information gathering process. If you would prefer that PerreLink does all this for you - this will be charged as an extra, but we will advise you of this in our estimate.

Design Layout:

Once all the content information has been supplied to us, we do a layout of the main page. We will produce a layout based on preferences provided by you, and upload this site to a private location on the Internet where the client can view it. We go through this process a few times, until the client is happy with this layout.

The client's feedback is solicited, and this feedback used to produce a second draft. Once more, client feedback is used to make another round of changes, and these changes are expected to produce a final draft.

Testing of Completed Website:

The site is thoroughly tested prior to uploading to the clients' choice of host. This is the final chance for changes and minor corrections to be made.

Launching your Completed Website:

After final testing and correction of any errors or changes requested by the client, the site is launched.

Last but not Least:

You now have a website , but is it in the top 10 search engine results? Once a website is designed and uploaded, it needs to be advertised, much like advertising your business by other means. Submitting your website to at least the top 4 search engines on a regular basis ensures that your business is found by people searching for your type of business. Otherwise, amongst millions of other websites, how is yours going to be found? PerreLink can also offer you this service as a once off, or on a regular basis.

Maintenance and Updates:

A website needs regular maintenance. You shouldn't assume that once it's online, you can forget about it. If you want people to return to your site, you should add new content and update existing material regularly.

We also offer this service once your website has been completed. We price either by the hour or can set up a specific maintenance contract to suit your business needs.
